Cancer Patients, Survivors Exchange Critical Emotional Support

CDECS Inc. announces the launch of CommuniCancer.com, a Web site designed to focus on the often-neglected human and emotional aspects of cancer to help reduce the feelings of isolation and anxiety that often accompany a diagnosis. Cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their families can receive the critical emotional support they need 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by connecting to others who have experienced the same type of cancer.

(Calgary, Alberta, Canada, December 12, 2006) - CDECS Inc. is proud to announce the release of www.CommuniCancer.com, an innovative new online community that makes it easy for cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their families to receive the critical emotional support they need by connecting them with others who have experienced the same type of cancer.

In addition to helping members find connections to others based on cancer type, age, and gender, CommuniCancer's proprietary CommuniFactor Matching Technology helps them find matches based on compatible personalities.

"CommuniCancer offers people affected by cancer the opportunity to transform negative feelings of helplessness, isolation, and anxiety into positive feelings of empowerment, hope, and a sense of community," says Katherine Brown, CEO of CDECS Inc. "Studies show that too many people with this disease feel alone with no one to talk to when one of the best resources they can draw from is each other."

According to The National Cancer Institute, one in three Americans will eventually develop some form of cancer. CommuniCancer has been designed to more effectively and efficiently support the large number of people who will be diagnosed with cancer by providing a resource that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to anyone in the world. Members benefit from the convenience CommuniCancer offers because even on days they don't feel well enough to attend a local support group meeting, they can still receive support through the Web site's e-mail messaging system, chat room, and instant messenger.

So far, the feedback received from CommuniCancer's members has been overwhelmingly positive and indicates the Web site is already starting to make a difference in people's lives. A member currently battling cancer says, "Friends and family are wonderful sources of support, but I would love very much to talk with someone who is, or has been, in a similar situation. Having someone who understands what I am feeling would be just a Godsend right now. Thank you to whoever thought of this site, it is wonderful."

About CDECS Inc.: CDECS Inc. designs and promotes online communities that make connecting with other people easy and convenient. The company's latest project, CommuniCancer.com, aims to connect cancer patients, survivors, and their families so they can draw strength, experience, and hope from each other in a supportive community environment.
