| My Cancer Story:
| Ovarian tumour was found by accident while having surgery for removal of benign fibroids. A subsequent uterine biopsy showed cancer in the uterus. I had a TAHBSO (total hysterectomy), they staged both cancers as Stage 1. Two synchronous primary cancers, endometrioid type (rather than metastasized from one to the other). Post-surgery biopsies were clear- no chemo or radiation needed. Considered a surgical cure. Unfortunately, the most devastating aspect is the loss of fertility. I was extremely fortunate to freeze embryos prior to surgery and hope the will come to fruition one day. |
